Severe Weather

During this time of the year, if we experience inclement weather such as a snow or ice, Hawkeye may delay or cancel classes.

You can find out if Hawkeye delays or cancels classes by:

• Sign- up for text messaging with the Hawkeye Alert system. Text, voice, and email messages will be delivered to the phone numbers and email address of your choice!
• Checking the College website – www.hawkeyecollege.edu
• Calling the Hawkeye Alert & Information Line – (319)-296-4444
• Listening to local radio and television stations

Always use your best judgment when determining to attend classes in inclement weather. If you decide not to attend classes due to weather, it is your responsibility to contact your instructors.

Delayed Starts

Students will have access to campus starting at 9:30am. You should plan to begin your schedule at the late-start time. For example, if Hawkeye opens at 10:00am, a class that is scheduled to begin at 9:30am would start at 10:00am. The rest of the day your classes will begin at the regularly scheduled time.

Employees

• Non-bargaining and UE employees should report to work at 9:30am.
• Employees will be able to access campus starting at 9:15am by way of Arboretum Drive (Hess Road) or the Southeast Main Entrance (E. Orange Rd).
• Employees who arrive on campus prior to 9:15am should park in either lot D west of Buchanan Hall or lot L directly north of the Library.
